How to Apply

How do I become an International Student at TAFE NSW - Western Sydney Institute?

  1. Choose a course and college
  2. Complete and Submit the Application
  3. Receive an Offer
  4. Accept your Offer
  5. Apply for your visa and enrol

Follow these steps:

Application Process

Step one: Read the TAFE NSW International Application form carefully.

Step two: Select a course

Step three: Obtain information on student visas from the Australian Border Force (ABF) website or your nearest Australian embassy. You may also wish to consult our representatives in your country.

Step four: Fill in the TAFE NSW International Student Application Form for Vocational Courses, or the TAFE NSW Higher Education International Application Form if you are applying for the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Care (Birth-5). Attach copies of all relevant documents and send your application to:

Step five: If your application is successful, WSI Admissions Team will send you an offer letter advising you about tuition fee payment, applying for your student visa and other arrangements such as airport pick-up and accommodation. If your application is incomplete, you will be notified to send additional documentation and this may delay the processing of your application.

Step six: When the WSI Admissions Team receives your fees, they will issue you a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). You can then apply for a student visa. The WSI Admissions Team will also send you details about orientation and enrolment at your chosen college.

Applying for a Diploma to Degree program

At TAFE NSW – Western Sydney Institute (WSI) you can choose a Diploma-to-Degree (D2D) university pathway course to suit your career plans.

These programs allow students to enter a bachelor degree program with guaranteed credit. Students study to Diploma or Advanced Diploma level with TAFE NSW and, on completion, transfer to university to complete the final year(s) of a degree program. Visa Requirements

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) determines the criteria for the granting of student visas.
